EasyMote is an easy-to-use large button universal remote, with large, clear backlit buttons, designed for elderly or partially-sighted users, allowing control of their own viewing experience.
The EasyMote is a simplified, universal television remote control. This can assist users who have difficulty using a standard TV remote. The EasyMote is available in either white or black. It is designed to fit in the palm of the user’s hand and can be attached to the wrist via a black, material wrist strap. It has six, flat, light green, large print, buttons. These buttons illuminate when pressed. Two of the buttons (On/Off and Mute) have non-abbreviated labels and the other four buttons have abbreviated labels (VOL+, VOL-, CH+ and CH-). The remote includes three additional paper adhesive labels for personalisation, as required. These labels require amendments to suit button shape. The functions of the remote include ON/OFF, Mute, Channel up/down and Volume Up/Down.
The remote is compatible with any TV, Fetch TV or Foxtel IQ. However, the remote can only be programmed to one device at any time. It can be programmed using the quick search function or it can learn the TV functions from the existing TV remote. The remote can be locked to prevent accidental reprogramming. Moderate hand function required to grasp the remote and press buttons (Fine motor skills), as desired. Minimal force required to press buttons. Sufficient cognitive function required to follow instructions and program remote. The user will require the original TV remote and/or cable box to program. The remote is battery-operated and requires two, AAA batteries. These are not included. Sufficient hand function is required to open battery compartment to replace AAA batteries.
